Incremental ELM Quest 2 · Last updated: August 25, 2026

Short version: all players begin on the public leaderboards under an anonymous name. Nothing is sent until the game has explained this to you, and it can be turned off in settings for players who want a completely offline experience. The game never learns your real name, email address, or location. There is no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking, in any version.

Information stored on your device

Your progress, settings and purchases are saved locally on your device. That save data is not sent to the developer and cannot be recovered by the developer if you lose your device or delete the app, unless your own iCloud or computer backups restore it.

The Guild Leaderboards (version 1.4.6 and later)

The Guild Leaderboards are a public board of standings and player profiles. Sharing is on when you install the game, under a name the game draws for you. Nothing is sent before the game has explained this to you, which it does the first time you open your profile or the boards, so if you never open either then nothing about you is ever published. You can turn sharing off at any time in Settings, and your profile comes down at once.

Nothing about the boards is required to play. With sharing off, no information is sent to the leaderboards or server. Everything else in the game is offline.

What other players can see while sharing is on

What is never collected

Your real name, your Game Center nickname, your email address, your contacts, your location, your photos and your advertising identifier. Nothing the game sends can be used to recognise your device in any other app. There is no message system, so no player can send you anything.

How your record is identified

Game Center gives the game an identifier for you that is unique to this developer and cannot be used to recognise you in anyone else's app. It is the key for your profile. It is never displayed, and it identifies you in no other app.

What only the developer can see

Publishing also sends a private breakdown of where your achievement points came from, and a total of any support purchases you made in earlier versions. It is used to balance the game.

A record of your time spent in game is also sent. This information allows the leaderboards to tell one save from another and to stay accurate, especially to retain progress after a backup or move to a new device.

All of it is stored in a separate table that no player can read, including you. None of it is published and none of it is ranked.

Where it is stored

Records are held by Supabase, Inc., which provides the database and servers for this feature on the developer's behalf and processes the data only for that purpose. Game Center, iCloud and the App Store are provided separately by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Taking your record down

Use "Take down my profile" in Settings. Your profile, your leaderboard entries and the private breakdown are deleted from the server. Turning sharing off stops any further publishing.

Names that break the rules

Any profile can be reported from inside the game. A report sends the profile you reported, the reason you picked, and your own Game Center identifier. Reported profiles are read by a person and can be hidden from the boards.

Game Center

If you sign in to Game Center, Apple processes your player identifier and your scores to run the leaderboards and achievements, under Apple's Privacy Policy. Game Center is optional and the game is fully playable without it, although sharing your profile needs it, to confirm the profile is yours.

In-app purchases

Purchases are optional and are processed by Apple. The developer never receives your card number or your billing details, only the transaction information Apple provides to deliver and restore what you bought. Every purchase is cosmetic or supportive. The game can be completed without spending anything.

Advertising, analytics and tracking

The game contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking software. Nothing you do is tracked across other apps or websites, and no data is sold or shared with data brokers. Apple may provide the developer with anonymous crash and usage diagnostics through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share those with developers, under Apple's own terms.

Children's privacy

The game does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age where you live. Sharing your profile is optional and needs Game Center. Reading the leaderboards requires neither. There is no chat, no messaging and no free text anywhere on them.
